Looking for a Book Bloggers ~ Reading Alley

Knowing that this time next week my second novel :

will already be published, I realised that in all the fuss of the past few months that my life has thrown at me, I completely forgot to organize anything to support the publication date. No Promo Blitz, no Book Tour (except for the Book Cover Reveal), no Giveaway, no Thunderclap, etc...
You know how it is. Every time I thought about it, something came up and every time I thought:
'I still have time.'
Until I run out of time.
Knowing this, unfortunately next Wednesday, 1st of February, when the novel will finally be published on Amazon - let me mention one more time - worldwide - don't expect any party. Sad, isn't it.
But as we all know, how writers are crawling for honest reviews, I'm letting you know, that my novel is available on
 Great Book for review
The fun place to read and review
for all readers, reviewers, book bloggers or anyone else who is willing to post a honest review on Amazon, Goodreads and of course on Reading Alley.
So don't be shy. I'm waiting for your requests.

Big Shout Out...

...to an amazing tour host JB Johnston and her equally good Brook Cottage Book blog. The past five days she has been organizing and leading an amazing #Book #Cover #RevealTour for my second novel

Pre-Order links:

JB managed to organize the tour with twelve book bloggers (her own book blog was the thirteenth) who were showing the book cover to the world for the first time.
From Monday to Friday, everyday there were an uncountable amount of FB posts, tweets, re-tweets from JB, the book bloggers, their followers and from those who think the book cover is amazing and deserves to be seen also by the rest of the population.

So my "thank you" goes not just to JB and her superb organization, but also to all other twelve book bloggers that were hosting my novel through the week:

and last, but not at all least:

Reading the proof

My OH read the proof of Caught Between Two Worlds in - 24 hours. Believe it or not. He started one day and he finished it the next. I actually managed to take a photo of him reading and he even didn't notice. I wanted to put on the photo the same day, and just before I did, I told him about it. Well, he wanted me to alter it... basically he demanded to 'cut off' his head.

Don't ask me why... I won't tell you. All I can say is - it's a stupid reason, but hey, that's life. Full of compromises.

So during his reading of the novel, I had heard a lot of sighs - especially if I asked him a question or asked him to do something for me or for the children, or... well, you know how it is. If you are at least a bit like me, every single thing is bothering you while you're reading. I have to confess, I was returning the 'favours'.

After he was finished and he said he enjoyed it; I mean, I knew I saw/heard it - I asked him if he had spotted any grammar mistakes or anything that I and the proof-reader had missed.

OH looked at me and honestly said:
"Yes, sure. One or two."
I looked at the paperback but there were no sticky notes popping out of it. Of course my next question to him was:
"Where?"
He looked at the book on the table and then me and innocently said:
"You wanted me to mark them?"

Ummmm... YES! That's the point, isn't it!

Of course those two sentences were just formulated in my head and probably they were on display written in a large cloud above my head.

"I can try and find them for you..." OH said after I said nothing.

I just smiled and shook my head. He enjoyed the story. Why should I spoil it for him?

So, instead of confirming the book to the Create Space or at least correcting what needs to be corrected - I'm reading it. I'm already half way through and hopefully I'll manage to finish it on time.

After all, next week the book cover reveal tour starts. It should be on Amazon for preorder too...

The first day of the year...

My Grandmother was a very wise woman. Unfortunately I lost her when I was seven and that's a long time ago, but nevertheless I still miss her and my memories of her are all good.

The one thing I remember very well, were her words:
"Be careful what you do on 1st of January. This is what you're going to do throughout the year."

Basically this words are imprinted in my brain.

You can imagine I try to avoid housework on 1st January like a plague. And to be honest, I... - well, let's just say - my Grandmother was right.

We are - quite frankly - not by our own choice - early risers. It doesn't matter when we go to sleep - my son is up - LATEST - at 6:30 am. We can party all night - well, he doesn't care for this and goes to sleep when he's sleepy - someone has to get up with him when he wakes. And usually on 1st of January this is me.

After the rest of the family members get up and the presents are opened and a large mug of the black beans liquid is gone, we are going to visit our parents/grandparents. It's something we do every year as - basically a bit of superstition doesn't hurt - according to OH the first one that comes to visit on a 1st of January, must be a man. A long story, never really understood it myself.

When we are finally home - I'm trying to do everything possible to stay awake. But to be honest - not even the magic black liquid helps. So, OH and I are trying to get some naptime separately, so someone is awake as children are awake.

And then - there are things I want to do. I need to do. And it doesn't matter how tired I am - I do.

I write. I edit.

Because, based on my grandmother's words - this is something I want to do through out of the year!

Hope you did/are doing the things today you want to do the rest of the year...
