The second email
came almost straight away - accepting my apology and requesting the first two
chapters of my manuscript...
After several back
and forth emails, I was offered a contract. Hmmm... and what a contract that
was. It was nine whole pages. As I've already mentioned, this isn’t my first
published book, so I had signed author's contracts before, but in the past
those contracts were on one page - a standardised form. Now
this contract was completely different.
You might think that I jumped and signed
it as soon as it landed in my inbox. Well that was not the case. I took my time
to read it, to re-read it and... well, I won’t bother you with all the details,
but I have to say that Safkhet Publishing answered all the crazy questions that
popped into my head and finally we signed the contract and sealed our
agreement.
I really don't need to point out
that at that moment one of my biggest dreams came true. And yes...
